Supervised Alternative Learning (S.A.L.)

Outreach

SAL Outreach supports students experiencing attendance challenges by providing flexible, personalized, one‑to‑one and small‑group learning opportunities. Each student is paired with a dedicated teacher who maintains consistent contact—typically meeting once per week in a community setting—to help students gradually reconnect with school.

Together with the SAL Outreach teacher, the student, their school, and their caregivers, a personalized SAL Plan is created to guide progress, encourage routine, and build toward long‑term success.

Transitions

SAL Transitions is a small, supportive class program designed for students who have struggled with attendance or engagement in a traditional high school environment. This structured, individualized learning setting helps students rebuild confidence and re‑establish school routines.

The program operates out of Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School, with students attending two days per week as outlined in their SAL Plan.
